Thursday
A wet start to the morning across much of England and Wales as an area of low pressure tracks eastwards. The rain could be heavy across southern England at times bringing a risk of flooding. Sleet and snow may affect Wales, parts of the Midlands and East Anglia at first with some wet accumulations over higher ground. The rain, sleet and snow travelling the south of northern England as well. It will quickly turn drier and brighter across Wales and Southwest England as the morning progresses, with the rain, sleet and snow clearing away from East of England by late morning. This leaves an increasingly fair afternoon with sunny spells and isolated showers. In Scotland and the far north of England as well as the whole of the island of Ireland it should be brighter but cold. Wintry showers in northern and western areas, but drier to the east. Windy for a time in England and Wales, these winds easing later. Highs near 4 to 6C.

Thursday Night
The residual wintry showers will be fading this evening. The night should become dry with clear skies and a risk of frost and ice developing. Increasing cloud across Ireland, Wales and Southwest England later in the night bringing periods of rain and drizzle. Increasingly misty over southwestern areas as the rain arrives. Lows at -2 to 3C.
 

Friday
A chilly day for all with plenty of cloud across Ireland as well as Wales, southern and southwest England. Murky here with mist and fog together with periods of rain and drizzle. This area of damp weather spreads through the Midlands, East Anglia and into northern England as the day progresses. Drier and brighter for Sotland and the far north of England at first, although always some wintry showers in western Scotland. Cloud increasing from the south as the day progresses. Highs near 4 to 6C for most, but 12C in the southwest.

Saturday
Becoming wet and windy over night into Saturday with a heavy band of rain rushing eastwards through the UK. There is the threat of some snow over high ground of northern England and Scotland. Low pressure is then sent to the west of Scotland on Saturday, bringing brighter weather but with heavy showers especially in the west. There is the threat of some more persistent snow affecting central and southern parts of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Severe gales developing across Ireland, northern England and Wales. Highs at 6 to 8C, but turning colder from the west.
