Thursday
Low pressure is bringing an unsettled day today. There will be rain this morning across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England as well as East Anglia. The rain could be heavy at times with the risk of a local flooding and also some snow over the Pennines and Southern Uplands. Heavy showers may merge to longest spells of thundery rain over Wales and Southwest England, the shower is moving into the Midlands. Drier and brighter in central and northern Scotland. This afternoon sees the rain clearing eastern England as brighter weather spreads through Wales, the Midlands and southern England although it will become windy too. Bright and mostly dry in Ireland as well as Scotland although always some cloud and eastern Scotland. Highs at 5 to 9C.

Thursday Night
It will become clearer and dry overnight for most areas. The wind will be falling light and under those clear skies temperatures will fall. Icy roads and pavements by the morning with temperatures around 0C. A more widespread and severe frost affecting Scotland where temperatures could falling to -5C over the snowfields.
 

Friday
A chilly start to Friday for many, but as low pressure takes over the weather pattern cloud and rain will be passing through Ireland and western Scotland. The rain could be heavy at times. Rain reaches much of northwest England, Wales and into Cornwall by midday. Drier to the east at firs, but then rain passes east into the afternoon, reaching all but the far southeast by dark. Turning more showery in Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Saturday
The weather quickly turns wet again on Saturday for most with rain being heavy almost anywhere. Winds will be too severe gale force in places as brighter weather with heavy showers follows into Ireland. The wind may cause some damage and disruption to transport especially across central and southern England. Snow may affect high ground of Scotland. High temperatures at 6 to 12C.
