Monday
An area of low pressure moves in from the west bringing rain to most areas through the day. Rain turns to sleet and snow over higher ground and to lower levels to the north. Windy with a risk of gales for southern areas. A drier day for much of Ireland and Northern Ireland after early rain clears though scattered showers are likely to develop to the west later. High temperatures at 2 to 13C.


Monday night
Rain and snow eases as low pressure moves over the North Sea. Frequent wintry showers overnight, these mainly focussed over northern and western areas. The clearest skies over eastern parts of Ireland and England. Overnight lows ranging from -2 to 4C for most, allowing for frost and ice patches to form.
 


Tuesday
A general west to north-westerly pattern prevails on Tuesday bringing cooler temperatures for all. Wintry showers affect western areas with a mix of rain, sleet, snow and hail falling. Staying mostly dry and bright to the east. A breezy day for southwestern areas with coastal gales possible later. High temperatures at 3 to 9C.
 


Wednesday
Conditions stay mixed with west to north-westerly winds on Wednesday. Areas of showers, most frequent north and west, with snow and hail over the hills. These tending to fade through the day. Central and southeastern England more often dry with sunshine. Cloud builds from the southwest and rain arrives over Ireland and the far southwest of the UK later. Highs at 3 to 7C.
