Winds gusting gale force

Good morning,

A deep area of low pressure centred over the North Sea just off eastern coasts of England will bring an unsettled and windy day to most places.

Strong to gale force winds around the western flank of the low, particularly exposed coastal areas with local gusts to 60mph. Even inland, winds gusting 30-40mph bring a risk of tree debris.

Areas of persistent rain and heavy thundery showers will rotate southwards across the country, with most places seeing rain at some point today. Northern England tending to brighten up to sunshine and scattered showers in the afternoon.

Today's top temperatures only reaching 14 to 17C in sunny spots, warmest in southern Scotland. During rain it will struggle at only 7 to 10C for several hours.

Have a great day.
Garry
