Becoming more mixed with thundery rain mid week

The weather turns more mixed through the coming week. There will be some outbreaks of thundery rain developing through Wednesday and Thursday. Some warm conditions in the south and east at times. Tending to be a cooler later in the week with the weather becoming more mixed.

Tuesday 15/6/21
High pressure remains over the British Isles on Tuesday. This should bring a dry day for most with good spells of sunshine, although there may be some low cloud affecting western coasts at times, a risk of some drizzle on hills. Thicker cloud in western Scotland and northwestern parts of Ireland with more persistent periods of rain here, some of it being heavy later. Highs at 24C in southern England, a cooler 13C in northwest Scotland, 21C in Ireland.


Wednesday 16/6/21
A front passing through Scotland and into Ireland on Wednesday will be bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain here. Later in the day thundery showers are likely to be developing across the far south of England. Fresher, brighter weather arrives in northwest Scotland. Elsewhere the day is going to be dry and bright as well as warm. Highs at 28C in eastern England, 18C in Ireland, 20C in eastern Scotland.


Thursday 17/6/21
High pressure to the west of Ireland, low pressure over the eastern parts of England and affecting most of the British Isles. This brings a muggy, damp day with thundery outbreaks of rain, mainly in the south and east. Misty and murky in places too. Some outbreaks of rain in eastern Ireland and eastern Scotland, but drier and brighter in western Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 24C in southeast England, widely 21 to 23C, 14C in northern Scotland and 17C in Ireland.

Friday 18/6/21
Some further outbreaks of thundery rain on Friday across southern and eastern parts of England and Wales. Higher pressure in Scotland will be bringing drier, brighter weather here, with this drier weather over most of northern England and northern arts of Ireland too. Highs near 15C in Scotland, 17C in Ireland and 21C in central England.

Saturday 19/6/21
Fronts in western areas on Saturday bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain here. More eastern parts are likely to be drier with broken cloud and some sunny spells, although there is also a risk of a few showers. Highs at 16C in Ireland, 23C in eastern England.

Sunday 20/6/21
Weak fronts continue to pass east on Sunday. This brings some cloud and a risk of some showery rain in northern England, ales and southwest England. Sunshine and showers in northern and western Scotland, a few showers in Northern Ireland but dry in the south. Drier in eastern and southern areas of England. Highs at 16 to 23.
