Sunniest and warmest in northwest

A quiet weather pattern is likely onward into next week, with high pressure still nearby. An easterly breeze will feel cool, although sheltered western regions will see warmer temperatures. Local slight frosts, mostly northern Britain.

Sunday 19/04/20
High pressure centred over the North Sea will result in a general east to southeasterly airflow across the country. Most places dry with variable cloud and sun. Chance of an isolated burst of rain in western areas. Feeling cool in the breeze near eastern coasts, only 10C or below. Warmest across central and western areas, highs of 17 to 19C.
 

Monday 20/04/20
Strong easterly winds for England & Wales will feel cool. A risk of rain affecting southern counties. Otherwise dry with cloudiest skies in the east, and best of the sunshine toward the northwest. Temperatures 8 to 10C near North Sea coasts, 12 to 15C in central and western areas, warmest of all toward northwest Scotland to the lee of the Highlands.

Ongoing easterly winds, with high pressure residing over Scandinavia. Generally dry, but risk of patchy rain and the odd heavy burst in west & southwestern areas. Variable cloud, feeling cool in the east. Sunniest and warmest in the northwest again. Highs 9 to 15C.
 

Wednesday 22/04/20
Little overall change. High pressure dominates to the north and northeast, with a prevailing easterly wind. Cool and cloud in the east, sunnier and warmer in the west. Highs 9 to 17C.

Thursday 23/04/20
An east or northeasterly airflow continues. Largely dry with sunny spells. Risk of local showers. Highs 10 to 17C.

Friday 24/04/20
Most likely dry with sunshine and broken cloud. Chance isolated showers. Perhaps slightly warmer. Highs 11 to 18C.
