More mixed weather ahead with rain and showers
The weather is much more unsettled through the course of the week. There will be periods of rain and showers at times, most of this probably in the west and south of the UK and Ireland. Less rain in Scotland during the week. Probably turning less unsettled next week.

Thursday 30/4/20 Low pressure dominates the weather across the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Bands of rain surround the low pressure, one through Scotland and another probably in southern Ireland, Wales and central and southern England. Brighter between the two areas, but a scattering of showers here too. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 15C in the southeast.
Friday 1/5/20 Low pressure remains on Friday. Rain in the far south of Ireland as well as southwestern parts of the UK. Drier across northern and eastern areas with some bright and sunny spells. Scattered showers elsewhere, but some of these turning heavier in more northern areas. Highs at 12 to 16C.
Saturday 2/5/20 Low pressure to the west of Ireland on Saturday. Fronts will be passing north and east bringing some periods of rain and showers. Brighter weather and showers follow to the west and south. Highs at 19C in southern England, 12C in northern Scotland.
Sunday 3/5/20 Low pressure again in control on Sunday. Uncertainty on the details, but there are likely to be periods of rain and showers. Highs at 12 to 18C.
Monday 4/5/20 Staying mixed through Monday with lower pressure bringing periods of rain and showers, probably mostly in Ireland, England and Wales. Scotland should be drier with only a low risk of a shower. Highs at 13 to 20C.
Tuesday 5/5/20 The risk of more rain in southern parts of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. Drier in northern England and Scotland with sunny spells. Highs at 11 to 19C.
