Less cold mid week, but then showers in the south and cooler for all by the weekend

A mixed week but one in which any rainfall totals will be low. It should be less cool over the next couple of day and is likely to be dry. perhaps turning more showers in east and south again by the end of the week and into the weekend. By then, temperatures fall again, especially in the east.

Thursday 16/4/20
Lower pressure south of Ireland on Thursday, this pushing a front and outbreaks of rain northwards through southern Ireland, south Wales and into the south of England during the day. Drier elsewhere with some bright or sunny spells, the best in the west. Cloudier in the east. Highs at 21C in the southeast, 16 to 18C for many, but just 10C along eastern coasts.

Friday 17/4/20
Higher pressure is north of Scotland on Friday with lower pressure staying south of Ireland. Soe outbreaks of rain in southern Ireland, southern Wales and southern England. Drier to the north with broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells. A cooler day with highs at 10 to 13C for many, 17C in the southwest.
 

Saturday 18/4/20
Litte changes on Saturday with high pressure to the north and low pressure to the south. Outbreaks of showery rain in Ireland, Wales and much of England. Drier in Scotland. Best of the sunshine in western Scotland. Cool again with highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 12C in southwest England.
 

Sunday 19/4/20
Higher pressure again on Sunday bringing some reasonable spells of sunshine. Broken cloud to the south, a few showers may affect southern England and parts of southern Ireland. Best of the sunshine to the north to west. Highs at 10 to 15C.

Monday 20/4/20
There could be a slacker pressure flow on Monday. A risk of some showers developing, some of them heavy and thundery and mostly in central and southern areas. Drier in the far north. Highs at 11 to 17C.

Tuesday 21/4/20
Higher pressure north on Tuesday with lower pressure to the south. An easterly flow over the country. Some showers in southern areas, but dry to the north. A cool day with tops at 10 to 15C.
