Generally dry with bright or sunny spells, but more cloud in northern Scotland

A ridge of high pressure builds during next week. This brings plenty of dry weather with it. There will be sunny spells, although days when there is more cloud too. The far north of Scotland may see more cloud with some outbreaks of rain at times here. Staying warm for most, although cooler days in the cloud.

Monday 12/7/21
Low pressure close to the southeastern UK on Monday. This brings cloud and rain across East Anglia and the southeast with some heavy periods of rain possible here. Little change during the day with the rain only slowly easing. Rain turning to showers in the Midlands in the afternoon. Thundery showers in northern England and Scotland, these showers turning heavy in places. Probably drier in western parts of Wales and southwest England and Ireland as well as western Scotland. Isolated showers here. Highs at 17 to 21C.


Tuesday 13/7/21
A ridge of high pressure building from the west on Tuesday. Any remains of rain should clear from southeast England. Elsewhere it will be a drier day with some reasonable spells of sunshine developing, the best of these in the west. Highs at 19 to 23C.

 
 
 


Wednesday 14/7/21
High pressure to the south of Ireland with a ridge extending through Ireland and the UK. A risk of a few showers and some cloud close to the far east of East Anglia and Kent. Elsewhere the day should be dry with plenty of sunshine. Some cloud affecting the far northwest of Scotland. Highs at 16C in northwest Scotland, 20 to 26C for most.

Thursday 15/7/21
High pressure is likely to be in control of the weather through Thursday. Generally dry with bright or sunny spells, but a fair amount of broken cloud at times too. There is again a risk of some patchy rain in the far southeast. Probably cloudier skies in northern and western Scotland. Highs at 16C in northern and western Scotland, mostly 21 to 26C.

Friday 16/7/21
High pressure over Ireland on Friday. A weak front may bring some cloud and outbreaks of rain in central and northern Scotland. For most areas it should be dry with a fair amount of sunshine. Highs at 16 to 18C in Scotland, northern England and Ireland, 21C in southern areas.

Saturday 17/7/21
High pressure remains on Saturday. It is likely to be dry for most with bright or sunny spells. Some cloud in northern and northwestern Scotland with rain here at times. Highs at 17 to 23C.
