Very warm and dry with plenty of sunshine, hints of thundery rain next week

High pressure builds and will be bringing a spell of fine and warm weather for most. Conditions may be very warm or even hot on a few days later this week. Northern Scotland could see some early cloud, and there is a risk of some cloud afecting eastern areas during the weekend and into next week. Hints of the possibility of some thundery rain arriving in the southwest on Tuesday, slowly spreading east.

Friday 16/7/21
High pressure is going to be affecting the weather over all parts of the British Isles on Friday. A fair morning with plenty of sunshine for most. It is going to be remaining fair into the afternoon. Staying dry for all with good spells of sunshine. Only the far northwest of Scotland may see a little low cloud drifting in from time to time. There is a risk of some patchy rain in Shetland and perhaps Orkney. Highs at 22 to 26C.

Saturday 17/7/21
High pressure remains through Saturday. This is going to be bringing another fine day with plenty of sunshine. Cloud in the far north of Scotland, Shetland and Orkney with the threat of a few spots of drizzle here. Highs at 16C in cloud in the far north, more widely 23 to 28C.
 

Sunday 18/7/21
High pressure remains through Sunday. This is going to be bringing a fine day with lots of sunshine. Some low cloud affecting eastern parts of England at first, but this will break and lift. Soe cloud in the far north of Scotland too. The best of the sunshine in the west. Highs at 16C in the far north of Scotland, widely 22 to 29C.

Monday 19/7/21
High pressure is going to be over Scotland on Monday, affecting all parts of the UK and Ireland. Eastern counties may see some cloud at times. Plenty of sunshine once the cloud in the east clears. The best sunshine in the west. Tops at 19 to 28C.

Tuesday 20/7/21
High pressure is going to be remaining over many areas, centred close to eastern Scotland. Many areas are going to be dry with good spells of sunshine, although again there could be some cloud over eastern areas. Lower pressure may move cloud to southern Ireland with some thundery showers here, these reaching the far southwest of England. Tops at 20 to 26C.

Wednesday 21/7/21
Low pressure may drift into Ireland on Wednesday. This brings the chance of some thundery showers here, with further thundery showers possibly afecting Wales, central and southern England. Drier in Scotland. Highs at 20 to 25.
