Perhaps drier later

Overall much of this week is going to be unsettled as low pressure areas and fronts bring in spells of rain to much of the United Kingdom. Later in the week pressure may build in keeping any rain to the north west but confidence is low. Temperatures are expected to be above normal across the south of England, but near to below average across the north.

Wednesday 27/09/17
Expect outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain across Northern Ireland and south west England spreads east into most areas through the afternoon. This persists into the evening then becomes confined to eastern areas overnight. Warmer in the south, cooler in the north. Expect highs of 15 to 21C.

Thursday 28/09/17
Today temperatures remain above normal across the south. A dry day to come with increasing amounts of sunshine. More rain is likely across western parts of Britain overnight. Expect highs of 14 to 21C.

 
 
 

Friday 29/09/17
The day appears wet for most with spells of rain, some of it locally heavy. This clears from the west late in the afternoon. Rain across the south east in the evening clears by night. Frost forms in rural areas. Look for highs of 13 to 21C.

 
 
 

Saturday 30/09/17
A cooler day with below normal temperatures on Saturday. Lots of dry, sunny weather to come. More cloud in the west could give the odd shower. A frost is likely in the north overnight. Expect highs of 13 to 16C.

 
 
 

Sunday 01/10/17
There is low confidence in the pattern. We may see and area of rain across south west England and the far south - fine and dry to the north. A windier day to come and staying quite chilly. Expect highs of 13 to 16C.

Monday 02/10/17
A front may spread rain in across Northern Ireland and northern parts of Scotland. Across England, Wales and southern Scotland it looks dry with morning fog patches in the south clearing to sunny spells. Look for highs of 12 to 16C.
