Wet & windy Friday
Windy, further showers weekend

Friday
A deep area of low pressure is centred west of Scotland on Friday. This is pushing fronts eastwards taking heavy periods of rain across most of Ireland and the UK. Rain arrives in East Anglia and southeast England during the afternoon. At the same time brighter and more showery weather follows into Ireland, Scotland and the west of the UK. Winds will be gusting to gale force, especially on western and southern coasts and hills. Highs widely at 17 to 20C.

Friday Night
The heaviest rain clears to the southeast through the evening on Friday. Light rain persists over western coasts of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and northern England. This may become heavier at times. A drier night for eastern areas with the best of the clear skies here too. Overnight lows widely at 10 to 14C.

Saturday
Low pressure is to the west of Scotland on Saturday. A front may allow for some more persistent showers or rain in the far southeast of England. Elsewhere a blustery, windy day with a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers tending to be heavy at times and mostly affecting western and southern areas. More persistent rain in western Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland too. Highs at 21 to 22C in much of central and eastern England, 15 to 19C elsewhere.

Sunday
Low pressure dominates on Sunday, centred to the northwest of Scotland. This brings another windy day. Rain in Scotland as well as Northern Ireland and into parts of northern England. Sunshine and showers for the rest of the country, these heavy and prolonged at times, more so in the west. High temperatures at 14 to 21C.
