Showers and outbreaks of rain
Winds easing through the weekend

Saturday
Low pressure centred over the northern UK brings periods of heavy rain to north and western regions. Some slow-moving thundery bursts for Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Showers will rattle across Wales, the Midlands and southwest, while some eastern & southeastern parts of England could stay dry or just see the odd light shower. Windy across southern counties, gales around coasts, with rough seas. Temperatures up to 22C in the southeast, nearer 15 to 20C for most, cooler where rain persists.

Saturday night
Outbreaks of heavy rain persisting through Saturday night and into Sunday for eastern parts of Ireland, central and southern parts of Scotland and across northern England. Showers for western and southern Ireland, northern Scotland, Wales and western parts of England. Staying windy through the night for most. Overnight lows at 9 to 14C, cooler in more rural spots.

Sunday
Low pressure stays in charge, with the main feature centred toward the northeast, but a secondary low likely to affect northern Britain. Areas of heavy showers or some longer spells of rain for northern Britain and Ireland. Brighter with sunny spells and passing showers in the south. Northern Scotland may become drier with sunny spells. Breezy in the south, but less windy than Saturday. Cool in the north, fairly warm in the south. High temperatures at 14 to 22C.

Monday
A west to northwesterly flow prevails into the start of the week as a trough of low pressure continues to influence the British Isles. Generally a mix of sunshine and showers, although there will be local variations. Some places may see rain for a few hours, while others will be more often dry. Gusty winds and feeling rather cool. High temperatures at 14 to 20C, warmest in southern England.
