Rain for a few hours
Clearing from west

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 29th September 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Heavy showers Ireland & Scotland

Good morning,

A deep area of low pressure is centred over the north Atlantic today, whilst high pressure remains over Scandinavia. A frontal system passes eastwards across Britain.

Rain for a few hours, some heavy bursts moving north & east across Britain. A clearance will develop from the west as a cold front moves through, allowing sunny spells to break through for many into the afternoon, or sooner in the west.

Showers will follow into the north & west, some heavy and locally thundery bursts for Northern Ireland and western Scotland, especially afternoon.

Blustery south-westerlies, especially in the west & north-west, up to gale force for the Western Isles.

Today's top temperatures up to 17 to 19C in central & south-eastern areas, nearer 13 to 16C north & west.

Have a great day.
Garry
