Morning Call - September 27, 2017
Late taste of summer
Increasingly wet south-west

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 27th September 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Rain for all by tonight

Good morning,

A warm south-easterly airflow influences the British Isles today. A large area of high pressure is centred over eastern Scandinavia, whilst a trough of low pressure lies west of Ireland.

Fair weather for many, with plenty of sunshine, although it will be rather hazy. Fronts will encroach from the west through the day. Drizzly rain will become persistent and increasingly heavy in the west & south-west.

Rain extends to central areas into the evening, and reaches eastern counties overnight. A south-easterly wind will freshen, strongest around coasts in the west & north, locally very gusty around the hills.

It will be a pleasantly warm day, with top temperatures around 22C in eastern England, and widely approaching 20C elsewhere, particularly in sheltered spots to the lee of high ground. Where rain develops, it will be nearer 15C.

Have a great day.
Garry
