Gales developing overnight for England & Wales

Good morning,

A westerly flow influences Britain today, turning south-westerly later as a rapidly developing low moves in from the Atlantic. This low passes quickly east across England & Wales on Tuesday night, bringing heavy rain and gales.

Showery for western regions this morning, with a few showers spreading into central & eastern counties, but these very well scattered and most places staying dry with sunny spells.

Rain spreads across Ireland and into western Britain later in the day, moving quickly east to all regions through the evening.

Winds will strengthen to gale force around coasts and hills in the south & west this evening, gusting over 60mph in exposed spots, and widely 40mph inland. The strongest winds will transfer east & north across England overnight.

Today's top temperatures reaching 19C in East Anglia, 17C for the Midlands, 15C in the west & north, or cooler in north-west Scotland.

Have a great day.
Garry
