Plenty of drier weather, but some cloud and rain in northern Scotland at times

Higher pressure is going to be close to the British Isles during the week ahead, bringing plenty of dry weather or at least very little rainfall to most areas. The best sunshine in likely in more southern parts as weak fronts pass through northern Scotland bringing some cloud and outbreaks of rain here at times. It will be feeling chilly in the middle part of the week before temperatures recover to near average later.

Thursday 24/6/21
An area of low pressure is expected to be to the north of Scotland today. This is going to be bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain to northern Scotland. Some low cloud and drizzle will be affecting western and northern coasts of Ireland as well as the western and northwestern coasts of Wales and England. It should be a brighter and drier day across most of central and southern England. Highs at 16C in the cloudier west and north, but to 22C in southern England.


Friday 25/6/21
Lower pressure is expected to be in the North Sea on Friday. This brings some coud and a few showers to eastern parts of England and Scotland. Less showers further west. Feeling cooler for all in the northerly winds with the best of any sunshine in southern Ireland and the south of England and Wales. Highs at 15 to 21C.
 


Saturday 26/6/21
A ridge of high pressure builds from the Atlantic across Ireland and into the UK on Saturday. There will be a weak front in the south and this gives cloud and outbreaks of patchy rain in central nd southern areas, although this tending to fade. Brighter in Scotland and northern England as well as Northern Ireland. Highs around 15C in northern Scotland, 23C in southern England.

Sunday 27/6/21
Ridge of high pressure remains on Sunday. There will be plenty of dry weather and sunny spells, although broken cloud will be developing. Highs near 15 to 23C.

Monday 28/6/21
Little change is expected on Monday with a ridge of high pressure continuing to affect most parts. Staying dry with some sunny spells for most of England, Wales and Ireland. Lower pressure passing north of Scotland could bring some cloud and spots of rain in the far north of Scotland, Shetland and Orkney. Highs at 23C in southern England, 15C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 29/6/21
Another mostly fair day across Ireland and the UK. There will be some cloud and rain in the far north and northwest of Scotland, but for most other areas the day should be dry with bright or sunny spells. Highs at 15C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England.
