Temperatures on the rise
Wet at times in the west

Tuesday
A front extends through Ireland and into Wales, southern England and western Scotland on Tuesday. This brings cloud and a misty morning with rain and drizzle. Drier in central and eastern England and Scotland, but cloudy here. Breezy in northern and eastern areas. Damp from Northern Ireland, western Scotland, the Midlands, Wales and southern England this afternoon with the rain becoming light. Brighter in western and southern Ireland with some sunny spells developing. Fair in Shetland and Orkney with some decent spells of sunshine here. High temperatures at 8 or 9C in eastern Scotland, mostly 14 to 16C.


Tuesday Night
Rain easing for most areas through the night though some showers could linger in the far west of Scotland. Showers could also develop through the night in the southeast of England. A mostly cloudy night across most of the UK and Ireland though skies could clear in the southwest. A few mist or fog patches may develop but these should clear quickly when the sun rises. Overnight lows at 4 to 9C.


Wednesday
High pressure remains on Wednesday giving an east to southeast flow. It will be feeling mild in the sunny spells, the best of which will be in the west. A few showers may develop over the Home Counties, extending into the Midlands and southern England as well as Wales through the afternoon. Bright for most though with further spells of sunshine and highs at 10 or 11C in eastern Scotland, mostly 15 to 17C.


Thursday
High pressure brings mostly dry weather through Thursday but with a fair amount of cloud. The risk of an afternoon shower over the hills of central and northern England and north Wales. Fair in northeastern Scotland, western Wales and western Ireland with good sunny spells. Temperatures at 12C on eastern coasts, more widely 16 to 19C.
