Wednesday
A weak front is edging slowly east through the country today. This brings plenty of cloud and damp weather, most of the rain in the west. The rain should be light overall, just a few moderate bursts here and there. Drier in eastern areas to start today, perhaps with some brighter spells, but the cloud increases and spots of rain could occur just about anywhere this afternoon. The focus for the rain will always be to the west. Brighter in Ireland with sunny periods, but some showers developing in central and western areas. Brighter too in central and northern Scotland, just an isolated shower here. Highs at 17C in East Anglia, 13C in the west.

Wednesday Night
Cloud and patchy rain at first tonight in eastern England, this tending to fade as the night progresses. Scattered showers in northern and eastern Scotland. Fair in the west with the cloud breaking and drier here. Some showers in western Ireland but fair for the rest of Ireland. Lows at 5 to 9C.
 

Thursday
Several fronts afecting the UK and Ireland on Thursday. A cold front slipping south through Scotland bringing rain, most of this in the north and east. Some heavy showers developing over the Pennines, but sunny spells away from these showerier areas. A further series of fronts brings rain into Ireland this afternoon, this reaching Wales and southwest England as scattered showers develop over the rest of central and eastern England. Highs at a cold 7C in northern Scotland, 15C in southeast England.

Friday
The cold front will be clearing south through the rest of Ireland and the southern UK on Friday. The front has little more than broken cloud and some showers along it by then. Much brighter, colder weather follows behind the front, although there will be showers in northern and eastern Scotland as well as some blowing into eastern England. The showers could be wintry over the Grampians and northern Highlands. Scattered showers to the west. Feeling cold for all, but very cold along eastern coasts. Highs at 6 to 12C.
