Morning Call - July 30, 2020
Warm south
Rain clearing

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 30th July 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Rain across northern areas will clear from the south but with more rain affecting Ireland overnight. Largely dry and warm elsewhere.

A largely dry morning is expected with sunshine across much of England and Wales although cloud and patchy light rain and drizzle will affect northern parts of Wales first thing and northwest England. Cloudy and wet over Northern Ireland and Ireland before drying up from the south here. A wet morning across southern and central Scotland but drier and brighter to the north and across the Northern Isles.

This afternoon will see England and Wales stay dry with plenty of sunshine about and feel warm and very warm in the southeast. Ireland will also be dry but cloudy and by the evening patchy drizzle will affect western coasts. Rain will clear Northern Ireland but it will remain mostly cloudy. Southern Scotland will dry up however stay largely cloudy too while central and northern areas will see spells of rain.

Overnight, it will stay mild and remain dry and fine with clear spells across England and Wales and eastern parts of Ireland. Cloudier skies further north but mainly dry just with that rain gradually clearing to the north of mainland Scotland. The Northern and Western Isles will probably hold on to patchy light rain and drizzle throughout. Heavier spells of rain start to push in across western Ireland and into western parts of Northern Ireland.
