Damp across southern England, wintry showers over the hills of Scotland

Good morning,

Damp and cloudy across much of the eastern and southern Midlands as well as East Anglia and southeast England this morning. Windier in Scotland and northwest England with some showers here, these turning increasingly to snow over the highest ground. Drier and brighter inbetween these areas with sunny spells for all and feeling milder overall.

Rain is reluctant to clear from the far south of England this afternoon, then turning more persistent this evening. Further showers in northern and western Scotland with a few into northwest England too. Againn these falling as snow over the highest ground.

Showers around northern and western coasts of Ireland with some drizzle in the far south. Drier in central and eastern areas with brighter skies and reasonable sunshine here.
