Some sunshine

Good morning,

A strong area of high pressure will be centred over the Low Countries, but influences much of Britain, bringing extensive dry weather.

Persistent dense fog for many low-lying areas, which may last all day for some places, and is likely to cause some travel disruption. Many hill tops may stick out above the fog layer, although banks of low cloud affect north-western regions.

A fresh south-easterly breeze for English Channel coasts and toward the south-west, whilst a southerly flow affects the Irish Sea and Scotland.

Fronts pass close to north-west Scotland, bringing thicker cloud and patchy drizzle to the West Highlands.

Temperatures will be just 2 to 5C in foggy areas. Elsewhere, it may reach 6 or 7C in hazy sunshine. Up to 9 or 10C in the far south-west.

Have a great day.
