Drizzle north & west

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 29th December 2016
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Foggy central and southern areas, drizzle north and west

Good morning,

It's another foggy and cold start to the morning across much of England and Wales. If you are still in bed, why not stay there for a while? The fog is going to be slowly to clear from the Midlands and eastern England and it is likely to be dense in places. Wales and southwest England as well as the northwest should be drier and brighter. The fog lifting for most into this afternoon but it could linger in some places over eastern England all day.

Milder to the west and north where an increase wind will be blowing some cloud onto the coasts of northwest England giving a few spots of rain on the hills. Some low cloud may affect western Wales too. More persistent rain and low cloud in western Scotland and the west of Ireland, this lasting through the day.

Tonight brings more fog and a frost to central and southern England. Breezier in the north soe fog not forming here, but there will be some drizzle on western coasts and hills. Rain and drizzle in the north and west of Scotland and Ireland.
