Severe gales in Scotland & Ireland, drizzly and murky western England and Wales

Good morning,

A rather cloudy and murky morning over many parts of central, northern and western England and Wales. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle here. Drier weather in eastern and southern parts of England, perhaps with a few brighter spells breaking through the cloud. More rain and drizzle affecting eastern Ireland with patchy rain in southern and central Scotland too.


More persistent rain in western Scotland and Ireland, this rain heavy at times. Becoming windier in Scotland too with gales through central and northern areas. Remaining drier in southern and eastern as well as central parts of England and Wales with a few brighter spells.


Overnight the wind and rain spread through Scotland and northern England as well as into Wales and the Midlands. Drier in the southeast. Heavy showers affecting western Ireland and western Scotland.
