Fair for most, patchy rain at the weekend, then drier to the south next week

Staying mostly dry this week with some reasonable spells of sunshine. It stays dry into the early part of the weekend, although fronts passing east bringing some outbreaks of rain. Next week sees a ridge of high pressure to the south bringing sunny spells and drier weather, but cloud and outbreaks of rain to the north.

Friday 7/4/17
A front brings some drizzle in northwest Scotland on Friday. Otherwise high pressure remains in control. The bulk of the United Kingdom and Ireland will remain fair and dry under high pressure. Highs of 13 to 18C.

 

Saturday 8/4/17
High pressure drifts to the east on Saturday with a warm southerly flow wafting northwards. This brings a fair day with good spells of sunshine and it should be staying dry. Highs of 13 to 20C.

 
 
 

Sunday 9/4/17
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Sunday. This pushes a front into Ireland, western Scotland and western Wales bringing outbreaks of rain here. Elsewhere it should be dry and warm with the best of the sunshine in the east. Highs at a cooler 12C in Ireland but up to 21C in eastern England.
 

Monday 10/4/17
A front passes eastwards through the UK and Ireland on Monday. This takes cloud and outbreaks of rain with it bringing a more unsettled day. Highs at a cooler 10 to 15C.

Tuesday 11/4/17
Fronts bringing some outbreaks of rain to Scotland. Drier to the south with sunny spells in the southeast, although drier in the west. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Wednesday 12/4/17
High pressure to the south of the country on Wednesday wth low pressure to the north. A western flow brings cloud and outbreaks of rain into Scotland. More southern areas will be dry with sunny spells. Tops at 12 to 17C.
