Risk of frost at times
High pressure gives way to an area of low pressure that moves east of Britain and brings in much colder air on brisk northerly winds. It also looks more unsettled with showers and some longer spells of rain. Showers over high ground may turn wintry.

Tuesday 25/04/17
Cold with a brisk north wind today. Expect a good deal of cloud, a few brief sunnier spells and showers. The showers become widespread in the afternoon. Some may be heavy and over the hills of Scotland and Northern Ireland will fall as snow. Dry, breezy and cold overnight. Expect high of 7 to 10C.
 Wednesday 26/04/17
It remains cold with north winds persisting. Again we expect plenty of showers to develop during the day. Some of these may be wintry over the hills of Scotland, northern England and Wales. Some sunshine will be found in between showers. Cold overnight with a frost in the north and in sheltered locations. Highs of 6 to 9C.
 Thursday 27/04/17
Less windy and a bit today with highs of 8 to 11C. Mostly dry to start the day but a number of showers again develop through the day. Most places lose the showers in the evening. A dry night to come with clear spells and a widespread frost.
 Friday 28/04/17
Milder for Friday and it becomes very windy with gales around the coasts of the north. Rain spreads into Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Expect scattered showers elsewhere. Heavier rain is likely across northern Britain and Wales overnight. Highs of 9 to 13C.
Saturday 29/04/17
Windy with heavy rain across England and Wales in the morning. This lingers in the south in the afternoon with showers expected for the rest of the country. Showers persist round the coasts overnight, dry inland. Highs of 9 to 11C.
Sunday 30/04/17
A cloudy morning with showers and spells of rain. In the afternoon this may persist across eastern areas while it becomes dry and sunnier in the west. Expect highs of 10 to 13C.
