UK Forecast - August 25, 2017
Increasingly warm
Dry long weekend for many

Saturday
A dry and bright day across central & southern Britain. Variable cloud and sunny spells. By afternoon, sunshine best around coasts in the west & south. In Scotland & northern England, expect showery rain following overnight rain in some areas. Showers pushing slowly into north-eastern counties and fading, although local bursts may continue east of the Grampians into late afternoon. Winds fairly light. Highs 18 to 24C, warmest south-east.

Saturday night
Most places will be dry overnight as slack high pressure remains across the country. A few drizzly showers moving into western Scotland as weak fronts drift in from the Atlantic. Variable cloud, but some clear breaks developing. Winds generally light, although some coasts may keep a breeze. Temperatures 12 to 14C in towns and near coasts, dipping to 10C or locally just below in rural parts of Wales, northern England & Scotland.

Sunday
High pressure across southern Britain brings a fair day to much of England & Wales. Good spells of sunshine, best around coasts in the afternoon. Light winds and sea breezes. A freshening south-westerly breeze in the north-west of Britain & Ireland brings a risk of a few drizzly showers, but amounts small, and areas east of high ground should stay dry. Highs 16 to 19C north-west, 21C north-east, 23C Midlands, 25C south-east.

Monday
A dry, sunny and very warm Bank Holiday for much of England & Wales. Sunshine turning hazy as cloud builds from the west. Fronts moving in from the Atlantic bring persistent rain to Ireland & Scotland, heaviest over western hills, sinking slowly south through the day, but only encroaching slowly into north-west England by late afternoon or evening. Freshening south-westerly winds. 15 to 18C north, but up to 23 to 27C south & east.
