Rain and showers later

We expect a cell of high pressure, centred to the north of the United Kingdom to give generally fair and dry conditions to most parts of the United Kingdom into mid week. From Thursday we will see a change to more unsettled conditions with heavier spells of rain and showers into the weekend. Temperatures are expected to rise to above normal.

Wednesday 10/05/17
A dry day to come with high pressure dominating Britain. Good sunny spells are expected across England and Wales but more with cloud across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Quite breezy today across the channel coasts. Dry overnight with clear skies but rain may reach south west England before morning. Expect high of 11 to 16C.


Thursday 11/05/17
Rather windy today. A front brings rain in across the Wales and the south of England. Scattered showers to affect Scotland. Mostly sunny and dry across northern England. Outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain are forecast across much of England and Northern Ireland overnight. Highs of 11 to 16C.
 


Friday 12/05/17
Misty, murky and wet across southern England and Wales in the morning. This rain spreads into northern England and Scotland in the afternoon. A number of showers follow into the south, some may be heavy. Spells of rain are likely across northern and western areas overnight. Strong winds across Scotland will moderate. Expect highs of 12 to 17C.


Saturday 13/05/17
Breezy and unsettled with plenty of showers and longer spells of rain. Most of the heavy rain is expected across Scotland in the afternoon with showers elsewhere. Showers become confined to western coasts for the evening and night. Highs of 12 to 18C.


Sunday 14/05/17
It continues unsettled today. Expect a mixture of sunny spells and showers, these turning more heavy for the afternoon. Outbreaks of rain sweep into England and Wales in the evening then into all parts in the night. Highs of 13 to 16C.

Monday 15/05/17
A warm day in the south. Rain lingers across Scotland all day. The rain will clear eastern England in the morning with much of England and Wales being fair and dry with sunny spells. Expect highs of 15 to 20C.
