Dry overall and mild, but then turning chillier next week

A cold week ahead for all. High pressure brings some frosts overnight before lower pressure settles to the south and east at the weekend. This brings the potential for some very chilly days in a strong northeast with with rain too. Hints of things remaining cool but drier for the early stages of next week.

Thursday 3/11/16
A ridge of high pressure across England and Wales on Thursday. This brings morning mist and fog patches as well as a widespread frost. The mist and fog slow to clear, but once it has the day should be fair with reasonable spells of sunshine. Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland brings rain to much of western Scotland and Ireland. Feeling cold with highs at 7 to 10C.


Friday 4/11/16
Low pressure settled over the south on Friday. A mixed day with showers in Scotland and Ireland as well as eastern England, some of them heavy. The risk of more persistent rain in the far south and southeast of England, although noe confidence in the detail is low. Another cold day with highs at 8 to 12C.
 


Saturday 5/11/16
Low pressure stays to the southeast on Saturday. This is likely to be bringing a cold and windy day for all. Rain may affect southern and eastern areas throughout with brighter skies and a few showers to the north and west. Highs at 6 to 10C.

 
 
 


Sunday 6/11/16
The area of low pressure is expected to be remaining to the southeast of the UK on Sunday. This brings another cold and windy day. Further rain in the east and south. Drier to the north and west although some showers affecting coasts and hills here. Highs near 6 to 10C.


Monday 7/11/16
The low pressure is to the east on Monday but may still bring some outbreaks of rain and cloud to the far southeast. A ridge of high pressure builds into Ireland bringing drier weather here with some good spells of sunshine. Much of Scotland, northern and western England and Wales are going to have much brighter conditions throughout. Still chilly with highs of 8 to 11C.

Tuesday 8/11/16
A ridge if high pressure over the country on Thursday brings a dry day for most. A few showers over the coasts of southeast England. Thicker cloud and some rain may affect northern Scotland where it will be windy too. Highs at 9 to 12C.
