Windy Saturday
Wet in west

Saturday
A deep area of low pressure lies to the north-west. A windy day, with gales around coasts and hills in the north & west. The Midlands, south & east of England will stay dry, with variable cloud and some sun, best in the east. A slow-moving front affects Scotland and Ireland, with persistent rain, and some prolonged heavy falls over the mountains. Rain encroaches into west Wales, north-west England and also Cornwall & Devon into the afternoon or evening. Mild for all, 11 to 15C.

Saturday night
Rain continues to spill further into central England and Wales, on and off into the evening and night. The most persistent rain will affect the hills of south and west Wales, south-west England and also the southern Lake District. Rain will tend to fade across Scotland, and clears from Northern Ireland. The rain is unlikely to reach East Anglia and the south-east. Blustery southerly winds continue, gales on exposed coasts. Mild for most, around 9 to 12C. Lows 5 to 7C Scotland and Ireland.

Sunday
A front is expected to reside across England and Wales producing a cloudy day with some rain or drizzle, chiefly western areas. Some heavier bursts redeveloping across the south-west, also pushing into southern Ireland. South-east England should escape mainly dry. Mild for most places. Cooler toward the north-west, with sunny periods for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Showers in north-west Scotland. A south to southwesterly breeze, strongest near coasts. Highs 10 to 14C.

Monday
A slack and complex pressure pattern. Low pressure toward the south-west feeds spells of rain into south-west England, south Wales and the south of Ireland, locally persistent but may be patchy in nature. Many places across central & eastern England and much of Scotland should get away with a dry day. Fairly cloudy, and dull for some, with fog in the morning. A light south to southeasterly airflow. Temperatures on the mild side night and day, highs 9 to 13C.
