Tuesday
The British Isles are under the influence of a mild and damp southwesterly airflow on Tuesday. A weak ridge of high pressure tries to build throughout the day bringing a dry day with sunny spells for central, southern and eastern parts of England with. Showery at first for western Scotland and north-west England, although the showers will fade throughout the morning. A low pressure system will push the developing ridge away through the evening bringing heavy rain for Ireland later. A breezy day with the strongest winds in the west. Temperature highs of 10 to 14C.


Tuesday Night
As the low pressure system moves westward to the north of Scotland it will continue to bring heavy rain to southern and western parts of Ireland through the night which will move into northwestern England and western Scotland. Heavy rain is expected particularly over Cumbria and southwestern Scotland. Fresh winds for western and exposed areas. A mild night with lows of 7 to 10C.


Wednesday
Low pressure is centred to the northwest of Scotland at midday pulling mild south to southwesterly winds across the British Isles. Rain is likely to persist for western and southern parts of Ireland and Scotland though this should ease as the day progresses.Some prolonged heavy falls are possible for the western highlands. Eastern Scotland may also see some light rain in the morning. A cloudy start with some drizzly rain for west Wales and southwest England. Mainly dry elsewhere with some sunny spells developing later. Mild, with high temperatures reaching 11 to 15C.


Thursday
A ridge of high pressure centred over eastern Europe begins to exert its influence over the British Isles keeping the country in a mild southerly airflow. Rain is likely to affect western coastal regions of Ireland and Scotland, although tending to ease up throughout the day. A little drizzle for coastal fringes of Wales and southwest England. For much of the north and west it will be a cloudy day with low level cloud and fog in places. In the southeast which is likely to see the best of the brightness, it will feel warm, with temperatures reaching 12 to 14C. Highs of 8 to 11C elsewhere.
