Friday
Low pressure is west of Ireland on Friday, with high pressure to the east of the UK. A brisk south or south easterly wind affects many areas, with the risk of gales in Ireland. Periods of rain, sleet and snow across Ireland and into the far southwest of England and Wales on Friday morning. These fade over the UK. Staying damp throughout across southern and western Ireland with plenty of low cloud and drizzle. Frequent snow showers affecting eastern parts of Scotland. Elsewhere it will be cold and mostly dry. Cloud breaks to allow some sunny spells to develop through Friday afternoon. High temperatures range from -3 to 3C for most, 5 or 6C possible in Cornwall and the southwest of Ireland.


Friday Night
Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow spread across the Ireland and Northern Ireland overnight from Friday into Saturday with, perhaps, some patchy precipitation spreading into far southwestern parts of England and Wales by the early morning too. Snow showers fade from the Northern Isles early on the leave a mostly dry night elsewhere. Plenty of cloud around over western and central areas with the best of any clearer skies to the east. Overnight lows at a bitter -8 to 0C for most areas, 5 or 6C to the far southwest of Ireland. Colder in more rural spots.


Saturday
An area of cloud, rain, sleet and snow will affect much of Ireland, central and southern Scotland as well as the west of England and Wales through Saturday. Most snow across Northern Ireland, Wales, northwest England and southwest Scotland with accumulations likely here. Milder in the west of Ireland with the snow turning to rain. Generally rather cloudy across the rest of the UK but mostly dry in eastern areas. Feeling very cold again with a severe frost to start the day across much of England and Wales. Winds will pick up across the country through the day on Saturday with gales to the west and northeast. Highs around -2 to 1C for much of the UK, but up to 10C possible in parts of Ireland.


Sunday
Another cold day for Sunday. Tending to be dry and breezy in the east with a few sunny spells here. Cloud increases in western England and Scotland as well as Wales with periods of sleet and snow developing. This turns to rain in the far west and becomes heavy. Wet across Ireland with sleet turning to rain, but becoming brighter in the west later. Gales to the west and north. High temperatures at 2 to 5C overall, 11C in western Ireland.
