Thursday
A severe frost to start the morning on Thursday. There will be some good spells of sunshine affecting much of central and eastern Scotland as well as much of central, southern and eastern England. Some brightness in Wales as well although cloud tending to increase here. The cold morning across Ireland and Southwest England with the wind is increasing and thickening cloud. Some outbreaks of sleet and snow affecting southern Ireland. Staying dry for most areas this afternoon with the best of any sunshine again in the east. One or two snow showers may affect eastern parts of Scotland. Further sleet and snow as well as strong winds across central and southern Ireland, with some rain and sleet in the Isles of Scilly too. Highs at 0 to 2C for most, but to 4C in the Scilly Isles and the far southwest of Ireland.


Thursday Night
The area of sleet and snow drifts into eastern and northern Ireland overnight. Some outbreaks of snow as well across western and southern Wales. Damp across Cornwall and western Ireland with outbreaks of rain here as well as low cloud shrouding hills and coast. Scattered snow showers in eastern Scotland. Dry elsewhere with clearer skies leading to a severe frost. Remaining windy in the west. Lows at -6C in central and eastern areas, 4C in western Ireland and the far west of Cornwall.


Friday
Low pressure is west of Ireland on Friday, with high-pressure to the east of England. A brisk south or south easterly wind affects many areas, with the risk of gales in Ireland. Periods of rain, sleet and snow across Ireland on the far west of England and Wales on Friday morning will be fading away. Staying damp throughout across southern and western Ireland with plenty of low cloud and drizzle. Frequent snow showers affecting eastern parts of Scotland. Elsewhere it will be cold and mostly dry. Cloud breaks to allow some sunny spells to develop Friday afternoon. Tops near 0 to 3C, but to 6C in Cornwall and western Ireland.


Saturday
An area of cloud, rain, sleet and snow will affect match of Ireland, central and southern Scotland as well as the west of England and Wales through Saturday. Most snow across Northern Ireland, Wales, Northwest England and Southwest Scotland. Accumulations of snow are likely here. Milder in the west of Ireland with the snow turning to rain. Generally rather cloudy across the rest of the UK but mostly dry in eastern areas. Feeling very cold again with a severe frost to start the day across much of England and Wales. Feeling very cold in the wind, highs around -1 to 1C, but to 10C in western Ireland and the far west of Cornwall.
