Snow across southern Scotland and the far north of northern England this morning. This could be heavy and lead to significant accumulations. Although turning to sleet and rain in the far south of Scotland and northern England this afternoon, snow continues to fall in centra Scotland. Cold across Scotland. Heavy bursts of rain for the rest of northern England with outbreaks of rain in the rest of England. A few morning brighter spells for Ireland, but showers reaching here. Showers and rain becoming more persistent in Wales, the Midlands and northwest England again later. Fewer showers in the southeast. Cold and dry for the far north of Scotland. Breezy for many. Highs at 2 to 4C in much of Scotland and northern England. 12C in southern England.

Tuesday Night
An area of snow continues to affect much of central and eastern Scotland. Snow will be slowly turning to rain across the far south of Scotland and the far north of England. Drive across much of central England and Wales, but an area of heavy rain is likely across southern and south eastern parts of England eventually moving into East Anglia. Ireland will be drier with some clear spells, although rain later in the west. Lows at 0C in Scotland, 6C in southern England.

Wednesday
Snow continues to fall across much of Scotland on Wednesday, the majority of it focused across central and eastern areas. Western Scotland should be dry Rain at first in Southeast England, although this will be clearing away. A mix of sunshine and showers for Wales and western England although more persistent rain will be affecting western and northern parts of Ireland. The best of any sunshine in the afternoon affecting the far south of England. Cold again in Scotland,highs at 2C in the north, but milder for the rest of England and Wales at 8 to 10C.

Thursday
Low pressure over western Ireland will bring a mixed day to the whole of the British Isles. Strong winds in Ireland and Scotland with periods of rain affecting Ireland. Snow in northern and central parts of Scotland but drier in the far south. An area of showers and rain affect much of central and southern England and Wales. In between it will be drier with some bright or sunny spells. Highs at 3C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.
