Thursday
An area of low pressure is expected to push northwestwards from southern England towards Northern Ireland on Thursday. It will be a wet and cloudy start across southern parts of England, Wales and Ireland. Further north across Scotland and Northern Ireland it will be dry with sunny spells, once the low cloud and mist lifts along the coasts. The rain however is forecast to push into Northern Ireland later in the morning and into southern Scotland and affect western Scotland as the day progresses. It will be a warm and muggy day once again for many. Highs of 19C to 24C. Cooler across central England and Ireland at around 16C.

Thursday Night
It will continue to be wet with spells of rain across much of Ireland and Northern Ireland as that area of low pressure pushes off the northwest coast of Ireland overnight. A trailing front will see some rain, albeit patchy, continue to push northwards across Scotland. Low cloud, mist and mark is expected to move into eastern coasts of Scotland and northern England again overnight. Elsewhere, it is expected to remain largely dry but rather cloudy. Southwest England, however, will see some patchy rain persist through much of the night. Temperatures falling to around 12 to 16C. 17C in the southeast.

Friday
Weak low pressure persists to the northwest of Scotland through Friday. The trailing band of patchy rain will continue to push northwards across Scotland. The far north may see some sunnier spells for a time until the cloud thickens. Rain will affect western and central Scotland through the afternoon. Meanwhile, elsewhere showery rain, some heavy downpours, is expected to develop in association with this area of low pressure. Although southern and southwestern parts of the UK should see any showery rain fizzle out as high pressure builds in from the south later on in the afternoon. A cooler day. Highs at 23C in the southeast but more generally and 17C to 21C.

Saturday
A ridge of high pressure will push into southern parts of England on Saturday which should bring largely dry conditions for most across England and Wales through the day. A deepening low pressure is expected to advance towards Ireland and western Scotland and will bring rain and freshening south southwesterly winds by the afternoon. Meanwhile, a trailing weak front across northeast Scotland could bring a cloudy start across much of northern and eastern Scotland, but this should clear through the day to sunny spells. Elsewhere, it will feel warm in the sunshine. Highs at 20C to 25C, 19C in Ireland.
