Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 6th April 2022
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Showery and breezy, risk of gales in Northern Ireland

Outbreaks of rain in the far southeast of England early on Wednesday morning, this clearing quickly. An area of heavy showers passes through Wales and western England early this morning, then passing through the rest of England and Wales before clearing eastern England early his afternoon. Showers in western Scotland, dry in the east, but wet in the far north of Scotland.

This afternoon is brighter with sunny spells and windy in the south. Scattered showers, most in the west. Further persistent showers or longer spells of rain in northern and western Scotland as well asd Northern Ireland. A risk of gales in Northern Ireland.

Tonight is going to become wetter over the far south of England. Some cloud and rain in northern and central Scotland, sleet over northern hills. Fair for Ireland with clear spells and clear too in the rest of England and Wales.
