As we head into April the high pressure over us currently looks to slide away and pull in more of a trough through the UK and Ireland. It also pulls in a much colder flow initially before temperatures recover to more average though in places staying slightly below average as we head through the month. Hints of a ridge developing later.
*28/3/22 - 3/4/22* Low pressure dominates over the UK and Ireland. Mixed to unsettled weather. Cool to in places cold conditions. Sleet and snow further north and over higher ground later. A north to north-easterly flow.
*4/4/22 - 10/4/22* Low pressure continues to dominate. High pressure across southern Europe. Mixed with heavy showers about. Cool but not as cold as previous. Less cold west to south-westerly flow.
*11/4/22 - 17/4/22* Trough out in North Atlantic and over Scandinavia. Slight ridge develops over UK and Ireland. A small settling of conditions but risk of rain still about. Perhaps drier further south. Temperatures tending to be average or slightly below.
*18/4/22 - 25/4/22* Hints of a ridge building in again. Conditions largely dry but some rain/showers about. Becoming more settled perhaps. Milder on a possible slight southerly flow.
