Unsettled with rain and showers but improving late next week

An unsettled weekend ahead as low pressure takes control of the weather. This is going to be bringing heavy showers, most in the west. Drier weather may affect eastern areas for a time late in the weekend and early next week before rain and showers move back in from the west. There are signs of an improvement later in the week as pressure builds again.

Sunday 21/5/17
Low pressure to the west of Ireland on Sunday with higher pressure to the east. Cloud and outbreaks of rain through Ireland and western parts of Scotland. A few showers in central and northern parts of England, but generally drier and brighter as well as warmer in the east and south. Temperatures rising to between a warm 15 to 20C.

Monday 22/5/17
Low pressure will be close to Ireland on Monday. This brings cloud and rain which will be sliping eastwards through the day. Drier to the east at first but cloud and rain arriving here during the day. Highs at a muggy 23C in eastern England, a cooler 16C in the west.
 

Tuesday 23/5/17
Low pressure drifts back into the UK and Ireland again on Tuesday and this looks set to be bringing about an unsettled day. There will be a mix of rain and heavy showers and it may become breezier too. Tops at 12 to 18C.

 
 
 

Wednesday 24/5/17
Low pressure is expected to be remaining over or close to the UK on Wednesday although it does drift eastwards. This brings further showers and rain, possibly heavy at times. Tending to become drier in the west later with sunny spells developing. Feeling cool with highs at 13 to 17C.

Thursday 25/5/17
Low pressure eases to the east on Thursday although it may still be able to produce an odd shower. For most it will be a brighter day with good spells of sunshine and it should be dry too. Highs at 14 to 19C.

Friday 26/5/17
Pressure stays high through Friday. This should be bringing a fair day with good spells of sunshine after morning mist and fog patches clear. Highs at 14 to 20C.
