Unsettled with showers and rain, some of it heavy with a risk of short-term flooding

An unsettled spell of weather ahead overt the coming day. Low pressure is expected to be in control and this is going to be bringing rain and showers. The showers are likely to be heavy through the end of the week, through the weekend and into the start of next. There is a risk of some localised flooding during the heavier showers.

Friday 19/5/17
Low pressure is going to be across the UK and Ireland on Friday. There will be some sunny spells in the morning but showers will soon get going. The afternoon sees some widespread and heavy showers these thundery at times with a risk of hail. The heaviest of the showers could produce some short-term localised flooding. Highs at 14 to 17C.

Saturday 20/5/17
Low pressure is expected to be staying over the UK and Ireland on Saturday. Further showers are expected and these could be heavy and thundery with a risk of local flooding at times. Highs at 13 to 17C.

 
 
 

Sunday 21/5/17
Little changes for Sunday with low pressure in control once again. A day of sunshine and showers again. The showers could be heavy and thundery in places. Temperatures at 13 to 18C.

 
 
 

Monday 22/5/17
Low pressure may drift a little further west on Monday with pressure rising slightly to the east. Showers and rain associated with the low but perhaps an improvement to the east with sunny spells, although confidence is low. Highs at 11 to 16C.

Tuesday 23/5/17
Confidence is low in the forecast for Tuesday. Low pressure is expected to be close to the UK and Ireland, again bringing some showers as well as sunny spells. Highs around 14 tom 18C.

Wednesday 24/5/17
Low pressure may be to the east of the country on Wednesday with higher pressure building to the west. This should bring dry weather and the best of the sunshine in the west with showers north and east. Highs at 13 to 18C.
