Settled weather continues

A benign weather pattern continues over the next few days, with some frost and fog expected. Dry weather will last into early next week, although some rain may develop as winds turn south-westerly from midweek, and it will become milder.

Sunday 04/12/16
High pressure centred toward the east maintains settled weather across the British Isles. Dry for all. Frosty in rural areas to start the day, particularly in the north & west. Some fog patches. A good amount of sunshine overall. A brisk easterly breeze across central & southern Britain, strongest around the south coast, making it feel cool. Top temperatures 4 to 8C.
 

Monday 05/12/16
A south-easterly pattern across the country. Dry overall. Variable cloud, but plenty of sunshine is likely. Frosty for many inland areas in the morning, temperatures starting near or just below freezing for many. Some fog patches may make some central and southern areas rather murky. Breezy around coasts in the south and east. Highs 3 to 8C.
 

Tuesday 06/12/16
High pressure centred toward the south-east promotes a southerly flow. A good amount of sunshine, but some low level murk and fog may linger. Dry for most. Patchy drizzle may affect far western fringes of Scotland & Ireland. A frosty morning for many places. Highs 3 to 7C, but the south-west may become milder, up to 10 to 12C.

Becoming generally milder across the country. Fronts moving off the Atlantic may bring outbreaks of rain, chiefly to western regions, whilst eastern areas should be dry. Mostly cloudy. A south to south-westerly breeze. Highs 9 to 12C

Thursday 08/12/16
A mild south to south-westerly flow is likely. A lot of cloud and murk, with outbreaks of rain or drizzle. Winds fairly light. Highs 8 to 12C.

Friday 09/12/16
A continued south-westerly flow is expected, although detail is uncertain. Cloudy for most places. Some drizzle or persistent rain in western regions. Highs 9 to 13C.
