Lots of dry weather before turning more unsettled later next week

Higher pressure brings plenty of dry weather in the day ahead. There is going to be some rain in the south on Saturday, but then it's a case of waiting until the middle to later stages of next week before rain returns. Pressure is expected to be lowering by then as the weather patterns changes significantly.

Monday 8/5/17
A ridge of high pressure continues to affect the UK and Ireland on Monday. The northeast flow continues to blow some cloud into eastern areas at first, extending from a large anticyclone northwest of Scotland. This cloud breaks and then all parts are likely to be dry with some good spells of sunshine. Feeling warm in the west but cool in the east. Highs at 13C in eastern areas but to 19C in the west.

Tuesday 9/5/17
Pressure is expected to be remaining high on Tuesday. This brings another dry day with the best of the sunshine to the west. Eastern areas are likely to have more cloud and a risk of a few showers. Highs at 11C in northeast Scotland, 19C in the sunnier west.

 
 
 

Wednesday 10/5/17
A slacker airflow on Wednesday with pressure slowly falling. Cloudier skies in northern areas as well as over parts of Ireland with a few spots of rain developing. Brighter spells elsewhere with broken cloud. Highs at 10 to 17C.

 
 
 

Thursday 11/5/17
Pressure is lower on Thursday and this leads to more mixed weather than recently. It is likely that there will be a fair amount of cloud with some showery outbreaks of rain here and there, especially in the south. Highs at 13 to 17C.

Friday 12/5/17
Low pressure brings an unsettled day with cloud and periods of rain affecting many areas. It's likely that the rain is showery at times. Highs at 13 to 17C.

Saturday 13/5/17
Low pressure to the west of Scotland on Saturday. This brings a day of sunshine and showers, some of them heavy. Tops near 13 to 17C.
