Chilly in strong north east to east winds

After an unsettled start, high pressure to the north tends to dominate the weather this week. Brisk north east winds though will make it feel quite chilly and will bring in a good deal of cloud along with some widely, scattered light showers though may areas will be predominately dry.

Wednesday 03/05/17
Expect a good deal of cloud across Wales along with the southern half of England. Showers to affect East Anglia and the south east during the day. Much of this will be light and patchy. Dry with good sunny spells in the north. Brisk north east winds will make it feel chilly. Mainly dry overnight with cloud persisting across England and Wales. Clear spells develop across Scotland. Expect high of 10 to 15C.


Thursday 04/05/17
It remains chilly in those north east winds. In the south of England and Wales it may stay rather cloudy with a few showers. Fine and dry for the rest of Britain with sunny spells. A dry night to come with clear spells but there is a risk of some patchy bits of rain in the far south of England. Highs of 11 to 15C.
 


Friday 05/05/17
Strong east to north east winds continue to make it feel chilly. Scotland will be dry with lots of sunshine. More cloud again across England and Wales with a risk of scattered showers in the south and across Wales. Very windy into the evening and night with outbreaks of rain spilling in across Wales and the south of England. Expect highs of 11 to 14C.
 


Saturday 06/05/17
Another windy day is expected with. For Wales along with central and southern parts of England it's looking cloudy with a risk of moderate to heavy spells of rain. To the north it will be dry with good sunny spells. A cloudy night with some rain and drizzle in the east. Highs of 112 to 15C.
 


Sunday 07/05/17
A mostly cloudy day in store for southern England and Wales with scattered, light rain showers. It continues fine across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England with sunny spells. Any showers fade in the evening ahead of a dry night. Highs of 13 to 16C.

Monday 08/05/17
Overall it appears largely dry across much of the country today with some good spells of sunshine. Overnight we may see a band of rain reaching the far west of Britain. Expect highs of 12 to 18C.
