A mixed week with warm or very warm conditions overall
A mixed week ahead but one which is likely to be warm or very warm. It's a dry end to the week with sunny spells, although thundery rain arrives on Saturday. Fresh weather then arrives on Sunday although it's back to thundery rain for Monday. Eastern and southern areas will be drier next week but some rai affects the west.

Saturday 27/5/17 A change on Saturday as an area of low pressure tracks northwards into Ireland. There will be thundery rain affecting much of Wales, western England and Wales, although eastern areas should be dry in the morning. The area of low pressure drifts into western Scotland this afternoon with the rain remaining heavy here in Northern Ireland and western Scotland. A band of rain pushes east over northern England, central and eastern England. Drier weather pushes through southern Ireland Wales and southern England in the afternoon. Turning cooler in the west at 17C in Ireland, 27C in eastern England.
Sunday 28/5/17 Low pressure clears northern Scotland on Sunday morning taking the thundery rain with it. Another area of low pressure edges into southern England in the evening bringing another area of thundery rain to southern England. In between these two areas a ridge of high pressure gives a fair day although the morning may start rather cloudy for some. Temperatures at 15 to 24C.
Bank Holiday Monday 29/5/17 A mostly dry day in Scotland with sunny spells, although cloud increases later. A further area of thundery rain in the south of the UK and Ireland, some of it heavy with lots of mist and murk here too. Feeling muggy with temperatures at 16 to 22C.
Tuesday 30/5/17 Fronts take rain away from eastern areas on Tuesday. Heavy periods of rain in northwest Scotland. Showers affecting western coasts of Scotland, England and Wales. Elsewhere it is going to become brighter with sunny spells. Temperatures at 15 to 20C.
Wednesday 31/5/17 Fronts pass east on Wednesday. This brings patchy outbreaks of rain to eastern areas, although some heavier bursts may affect western Scotland. Sunny spells and showers in Ireland. Mostly dry and bright over southern England. Highs at 16 to 23C
Thursday 1/6/17 A ridge of high pressure over southern and eastern England with mostly dry weather here. Cloud and rain in Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 17 to 25C.
