Dense fog in south
Rain clearing Scotland

Sunday
A cold, misty morning with widespread fog across much of England and Wales and this will be quite dense in places, particularly so in the south and east of England. It will be a dry day here and the fog tends to lift to low cloud in the afternoon but some fog patches may linger all day. A cloudy day across Scotland with outbreaks of mainly light rain that tends to fizzle out through the afternoon. A dry day for Northern Ireland with some afternoon sunshine. Expect highs of 7 to 10 Celsius.

Sunday night
A dry evening is expected across Britain but we are likely to see fog re-developing and again overnight it may be quite widespread with very low visibilities possible. Across northern areas where we may see more in the way of cloud breaks, we could see a frost in the countryside as the winds fall light. Minimum temperatures of 2 to 6 Celsius across Britain.

Monday
Chillier today with the winds coming around to the east across England. It continues cloudy and misty across England and Wales and this cloud may be thick enough to give some patchy rain. Some fog patches too may persist well into the day. After a dry morning some light rain may affect Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland. In the evening some patchy rain may affect south west England otherwise it's a dry evening. Dry across Britain overnight with varying amounts of cloud, clear spells and fog patches. Expect top temperatures of 6 to 8 Celsius.

Tuesday
A cold day to come. Strong winds will be developing across northern Britain with gusts to 70 mph around exposed coasts of northern Scotland and over the hills. A front spreads outbreaks of rain in across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Dry through the day across England and Wales with a good deal of cloud. Windy into the evening and night across the north but not as windy as the day. Rain spreads down into northern England, Wales and south west England. Look for high temperatures of 5 to 7 Celsius.
