Issued: 0530hrs Friday 9th June 2023
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Heavy, thundery shower risk in the southwest of England and across Ireland

The morning is mostly dry with some polaces lucky enough to start sunny but many other under cloud, this thinnign and breaking as the morning progresses. Thicker cloud and showers across Cornwall moving into southern counties of Ireland, heavy and possibly thundery.

The afternoon sees more sunshine, particularly in the north and east. Sunny spells developing across the west too behind the showers but southwest England, possibly south Wales and on through western Ireland always at risk of showers. Dry elsewhere.

Overnight, showers, many heavy and thundery, continue across southwest England, southwest Wales and across much of Ireland where it will also be very muggy. Dry elsewhere with some clear spells.
