Scattered thunderstorms in central Europe


Thursday
Hot and dry conditions prevail across southern Europe and the Mediterranean, just the small risk of a developing showers across northwest Spain later.
Dry and hot still across France as well as the Low Countries into many parts of Germany, though there is the risk of some showers further southeast here. Heavy showers and thunderstorms affecting the Czech republic pushing into the very far south of Poland. Mostly dry across the rest of Poland, though northern coasts seeing some showery rain. Dry and hot through the Balkans and the rest of eastern Europe.
Some rain over Denmark initially but this will soon clear to dry weather and sunny spells though windy. Unsettled and cool across Scandinavia with areas of rain and showers. Heavy rain and gusty winds across north Norway and north Sweden. Scattered showers through Finland and showery for the Baltic states too.


Friday
Staying hot and dry across much of central and southern Europe, with lots of sunshine for much of Spain and Portugal, although a chance of showers in northwest Iberia. Sunny across France and Italy, the Balkans and Greece. The Mediterranean islands will all bask in hot sunshine. A risk of thunderstorms across the Alps, especially for Austria. A few storms may also form across Romania and Ukraine, but well scattered and much of eastern Europe will stay dry.
Northern central Europe will be fresher, with some showers for northern Germany and Poland. Cool northwesterly winds prevail across Scandinavia where breezy and showery conditions are widespread for Norway, Sweden and Finland.
