A more mixed week with showers, a risk of some longer spells of rain, warm

A more mixed week ahead as low pressure drifts close to the British Isles and is overhead on some days. This brings showers, some of them heavy at times. A risk of longer spells of rain too. By the end of the week most showers are on western and northern areas. Tending to stay mild to warm overall.

Wednesday 22/5/24
On Wednesday an area of low pressure drifts up the eastern coast of England and Scotland. This brings cloud and rain to many eastern areas of the country, some of the rain could be quite heavy in the east. Rain too across northern England.. Western areas will have a mix of bright or sunny spells and some showers. The showers could be heavy in the afternoon. Highs at 19C in the south, 12 to 14C in northern and eastern areas.

Thursday 23/5/24
The area of low pressure is likely to be over the British Isles on Thursday. This gives rain too much of Scotland, as well as the far north-east of England. Ireland and the rest of England and Wales will be brighter and mostly dry, although isolated showers, can't be ruled out over western coasts and hills. Highs at 12 to 14C in the wetter north and west, 18C in the drier south.

Friday 24/5/24
Low pressure fades on Friday, although still a day of sunny spells and some afternoon showers. Most of the showers fairly well scattered but an odd heavier one could occur. Highs at 12 to 18C.



 
 
 

Saturday 25/5/24
Turning wetter in Ireland and the west of Wales and southwest England through Saturday as a front approaches from the west. Eastern areas of England and northern Scotland should be staying dry with good spells of sunshine. Highs at 15C in the west, 19C in the east.


 

Sunday 26/5/24
Low pressure west of Ireland on Sunday brings a showery day for most. The showers could be heavy at times through northern England, Scotland and Ireland. Showers more scattered elsewhere with sunny spells. Highs at 15 to 19C.

Monday 27/5/24
Low pressure dominates again through Monday. Showers for western Scotland and Ireland. Drier for more southern and eastern areas with sunny spells. Highs at 22C in southern England, 14C in northwest Scotland.
