Saturday
Severe gales affecting much of northern England and Scotland as well as parts of East Anglia early this morning. Showers in the west and north too, some of them heavy and falling as snow over Scottish hills and the Pennines. Brighter in more central and eastern areas as well as the east of Ireland. The winds will be easing through this morning, except for northern Scotland where they stay at severe gale force well into the afternoon. Showers are set to continue in the north and west, although these becoming more scattered, Always drier and brighter in the east. Cloud increasing across southern England and southern Ireland later with rain arriving this evening. Highs at 10C in southern England, 7C in northern Scotland.

Saturday Night
An area of heavy rain and strong winds passing through Ireland and into Wales and England overnight. The heaviest of the rain in the west where it will be turning to snow over hills and mountains of Wales and the southern Pennines by the morning. Drier in Scotland and most of Northern Ireland, although some wintry showers continuing in the far north of Scotland. Lows around 1C in Scotland, 7C in southern England.

Sunday
Low pressure moves into the North Sea on Sunday introducing a colder northwest flow. This brings cloud, wind and rain across many parts of England and Wales, the rain heavy in Wales and northern England. Snow affects the hills of Wales and the Pennines with a few flakes to lower levels in the Midlands too. The rain arrives through East Anglia and southeast England in the afternoon. Brighter for much of the island of Ireland and Scotland, although heavy wintry showers will be affecting northern Scotland, moving south during the day. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 7C in southern England, but 5 or 6C where it is wetter.

Monday
A chilly start to Monday morning. There may be a few showers around eastern coasts, but overall it should be dry as a ridge of high pressure builds. This brings a fair amount of sunshine with it. Most areas stay dry through the day. Increased cloud in the west of Ireland and western Scotland later. Highs at 3C in northern Scotland, 8C in southern England.
