Broken cloud, showers
Rain in Scotland

Tuesday
A wet morning through Scotland and eastern England with wind and rain. This rain clears the east of England fairly quickly although it is expected to linger across Scotland throughout the day. The far north of Scotland starts dry, but rain arrives here during the morning, whilst the far south tends to dry up a little this afternoon. Elsewhere drier weather will be following across Ireland, this moving into Wales and the rest of England. It is likely to be breezy and will become increasingly cold. A few showers here and there, especially no western facing hills with a fair amount of cloud too. Highs at 13C in eastern England, 9C in Ireland.

Tuesday Night
The threat of some more persistent rain affecting southern England tonight, this could be heavy as it tracks east and may linger in the southeast until the morning. Rain clearing from northern and eastern Scotland. Drier weather affecting other areas with broken cloud, although some showers on western coasts of Ireland and the west of Scotland. Lows around 0C in sheltered parts of northern England and Scotland, 7C in southern England.

Wednesday
Low pressure is in control of the weather through Wednesday being centred north and east of the country. There is the risk of some rain in the far south and southeast of England, perhaps heavy at times before slowly clearing east. Elsewhere there will be broken cloud and some sunny spells but also heavy showers developing. The showers turning wintry on the hills of Wales, northern England, Scotland and Ireland. Highs at a chilly 6 to 8C.

Thursday
An area of low pressure to the south of Ierland on Thursday. An occluded front brings rain and cloud to the north of Scotland, this lasting for much of the day. Sunny spells for many in the morning but some showers soon developing, especially in England, Wales and southern Ireland. These become heavier and thundery into the afternoon with a risk of more persistent showers across southern England, Wales and the south of Ireland. Sleet and snow again on hills. Fewer showers further north although again any that do occur could be heavy. Highs at 6 to 9C.
