Becoming increasingly unsettled and windy for some, cooler next week

Conditions are going to be turning more unsettled during the coming week. Low pressure will be in control of conditions and this will be bringing rain and showers to many areas. Most of the rain affecting northern and western areas. Next week looks set to become cooler and unsettled with low pressure bringing heavy showers at times, although perhaps turning drier in the north later.

Sunday 19/3/17
Low pressure is going to be to the north of Scotland on Sunday. Fronts will be passing eastwards bringing outbreaks of rain, most over the west of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England. Drier in eastern and southern England with some brighter spells here. Heavy showers and windy conditions across northern and western Scotland. Tops near 8 to 13C.

Monday 20/3/17
Low pressure dominates on Monday. This brings cloud and some rain in the west and south. Drier in more eastern and northern areas with the cloud breaking and sunny spells developing. Highs at 9 to 13C.

 
 
 

Tuesday 21/3/17
A front passes east on Tuesday enabling a cooler northwest flow to develop. The front brings a band of rain to all areas, although this clears to leave brighter conditions together with some heavy showers in the north and west. Highs at 6 to 12C.

 
 
 

Wednesday 22/3/17
A trough of low pressure may be over the country on Wednesday. This brings a cooler and unsettled day with heavy showers or longer periods of rain. Highs near 6 to 11C.

Thursday 23/3/17
Rain may continue to affect the east and south of England on Thursday with low pressure to the south. Higher pressure builds in more northern parts bringing drier conditions and sunny spells here. Highs at a chilly 9C in southern England, 12C in Scotland.

Friday 24/3/17
Hints of higher pressur building on Friday, especially over the north of the country. This brings drier conditions with some good spells of sunshine. Breezier to the south with the risk of some showers on southern coasts of England. Highs at 10 to 14C.
